Weaning on hold

I suppose the other day was too good to be true.  Deacon wants to nurse and I don't know how to cut him off so for now I guess we will continue.  I just don't have the heart to let him scream and cry for the "na na" so weaning is on hold :(

Until next time...

I caved

Deacon couldn't take it anymore and threw a fit until I nursed him late this afternoon and tonight before bed.  Once he started nursing he was calm again... I tried to tell him that we aren't nursing anymore, but he could drink his milk from his sippy cup. He didn't like that at all and threw his cup to the floor every time I handed it to him! At one point he took the cup from me like he wanted it after all... only to throw it again as if to say "quit trying to give this dang cup to me I don't want it.... I want boob!" I got that because after throwing his cup he'd repeat "na na" while giving me the sign for milk and pulling my shirt up to get underneath on his own!! So I caved, he got his "na na" and all is peaceful in the house again.

I love being new at this parenting thing...lol

I hope tomorrow is more like yesterday

Until next time...

Here are a few of the items that I have been sewing.  I have a ton of the paci clips - a pretty large selection - I only have a few uploaded above because I don't have the others finished yet.  As I get more items made I will upload them.

A couple of friends and I are getting a booth this summer at the local Farmers Market and will be selling our crafts!  I'm going to get a bunch made up so I will have plenty to sell... If all goes well I will create an etsy.com account to sell them online too!  Contact me if you might be interested :-)

Until next time...

Sewing memory

I remember going to my Gramma's house every summer for the whole summer.  It was the best times for me because we played games, went to church, my cousins and I would all go to church camp for a week, and my Gramma would sew my clothes for the up coming school year. When I got old enough I even got to help! Then the sewing stopped and I didn't continue either.

Fast forward 25 yrs and it's a new and fresh hobby that I'm really enjoying! I started out with baby blankets and burp cloths, paci holders, and now a double sided nursing cover! I can't wait to figure out how to sew clothes again because I'm going to my own clothes and of course Deacon's and any other kids I have.

Thank you to my Father-in-law for rescuing a sewing machine from someone giving it away and to my Mother-in-law for getting it tuned up for me. It has found a great home and Samuel (my husband) and I are having "sew" much fun with it!!

Yay for sewing!

Deacon's weaning is going well...

So far today Deacon has NOT nursed! He's wanted to, but I've basically distracted him and given him regular food instead.  I thought nap time was going to be rough, but he only cried for about a minute or so and then went to sleep for an hour and a half! Let's hope night night goes just as smoothly *fingers crossed*

Well the night has come and to my surprise Deacon did not nurse today and went down tonight just like at nap time... Today has been a success!

Until tomorrow...

First Blog Post EVER!

Well this is officially my very first post EVER! I'm a blogger virgin so hopefully I can figure my way though this nice and easy without many complications...

Let the blogging begin... well tomorrow after I wake up.  I guess if there is a 2nd post then figuring out how to log back in was a success!

Until next time...
